Where there used to be a few, Management Schools , or « Business Schools » have multiplied over the last few years, both in France and abroad.
In order to enable both parents and future students (along wit employers) to sort it out, various accreditations and rankings now certify the quality of the teachings and curriculum.
However, academic excellency cannot fully be articulated without a strong and involved network of alumnis, whose involvemnt reaches the School’s main goals.
In most ranking, the importance of the alumni network is a valuable criteria.
Being amongst the 1% of Management schools benefitting from the 4 main accreditations (EQUIS,AACSB,EPAS,AMBA) ESSCA also rests upon a history rich of over a hundred years of academic evolutions.
It was indeed Paul Baugas, then Dean of the faculty of Law of the Université Catholique de l’Ouest, who created in 1909 the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d’Angers.
The Alumni Association was set up in 1938. as such it got in 1967 the statute of founding member in the Association which, to this day, still supports the School. As part of the Board of Directors and part of teh Executive Committee of ESSCA, it atkes an integral part in the School’s life and in its strategic évolutions.
Strong of 17 000 alumni, of which 14500 are still active, the Association adopted in 2017 the name of ESSCA Alumni to keep up with the international development of the school.
2017 also saw a shift in terms of business model and ethos. In agreement with the school, ESSCA Alumni enable students to join during the 1st year of their studies.
Thanks to this opportunity, students benefit from specific ESSCA Alumni services (internship research, mentoring, professionnal photo shoot, inclusion in the network’s events, etc…) during their curriculum, and will afterward become life members when they graduate.
The best possible example of our motto : « L’ESSCA, c’est pour la vie ! ».
