Club Culture et Patrimoine travels to Brussels

On January 27, a group of alumni from all years had the immense privilege of visiting the European Parliament.

An initiative of Jean-Marie Beaupuy (class of 1969), a politician from the Marne region, long-time deputy mayor of Reims and above all a member of the European Parliament during the 2004-2009 term.

Welcomed by Jean-Marie Beaupuy, the alumni listened to the former Member of the European Parliament explain how the Parliament works, its various bodies and its particularities.

They were then received by Christophe Grudler, current Member of the European Parliament for the Territoire de Belfort.

For 1 hour, celui-ci talked about his work in the European Parliament, the various committees he sits on and the issues at stake in the June 9 elections.

1 hour during which alumni were able to ask him any questions they might have, particularly about his work on the Industry, Research and Energy Committee.

He also spoke of the difficulties of reaching agreement with 27 states, given the diversity of territories, cultures and priorities of each member state.

He also stressed the importance of the European elections, a subject that often generates little enthusiasm among French voters....

We'll be able to see for ourselves in the days to come with the farmers' demonstrations!

The exchange continued over lunch at the Parliament building.

a PASSIONATE visit, thank you Jean-Marie!
