Two of the School's leading figures: L'Abbé Pourrias & Jacques de Latrollière

Wecan't celebrate the School's Centenary without paying tribute to two of its most outstanding personalities. With them, we are embracing four decades of history in one fell swoop, and not the least, since in two leases of some twenty years respectively, we go from the post-war era to the present day.twenty years respectively, we move from the post-war era to "La Grande ESSCA".

Although very different in appearance and individuality, René POURRIAS and Jacques DE LATROLLIÈRE successively embodied, each in their own way, and in phase with their own era.In keeping with the times, they were the kind of benevolent father figures that young people in training dream of rubbing shoulders with; the ideal interface, as we would say today, between an institution and its public. Doubtless because they were able to demonstrate very special human qualities, and in return aroused great mobilization capacities, they acquired quasi-legendary status in the eyes of certain alumni, who have retained indelible memories of them.

Let this anniversary be an opportunity to express our gratitude for the great work they accomplished in the service of students, the École and its foundation.
