The association has focused its development over the next few years on supporting and promoting entrepreneurship "Made in ESSCA". We invite you to discover the experience ofEdouard Roy (class of 2014) who was one of the "Jeune Talent" nominees in 2020.

We've come a long way in just 5 years since he first raised funds and told us about his experience at the height of the pandemic.

Editor's note: this article is a replay of Edouard Leroy's LinkedIn publication. Pour voir la publication originale : h ttps://www.linkedin.com/posts/edouardroy_%C3%A0-27-ans-jai-v%C3%A9cu-une-%C3%A9poque-de-folie-activity-7193543925133967360-McpA?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

At the age of 27, I was living through a period of madness. Our Champagne brand had just won over one of France's leading entrepreneurs.

It was the summer of 2019.

We had just created Champagne EPC.

And Jérôme and I had to pitch the concept of the company to a group of renowned shareholders.

It didn't take long for things to take off. And it still seems incredible to me.

EPC brought on board such big names as :
- Charles-Edouard Bouée, CEO of Roland Berger
- Cédric Sire, co-founder of webedia
- Hervé Augustin (ex-GM of Champagnes Bollinger/Ayala)

The icing on the cake: we even became the UFO in the technology portfolio of Xavier Niel's Kima Ventures fund.

In short, people who had their feet on the ground believed in us.
Even though they see hundreds of applications every year.

And even today, I still find it hard to believe.

Because I was in my twenties.
Because the Champagne business is so competitive.
Because it was a crazy gamble to make a place for myself in such a tense environment.

Surprisingly, this early success also led to an impostor syndrome in me.

I often find it hard to celebrate our growth.

The fear of disappointing, of not measuring up...

I think that's the paradox of unexpected entrepreneurial success.

It's as pleasing as it is challenging for the future.

After all, I wouldn't want to be accused of resting on our laurels.
Especially in the vineyard 😉
