Jean Marie Beaupuy class of 1969 honored at the Quai d'Orsay

Surrounded by people from the Marne region, his family and many friends, including some from his graduating class, Jean Marie Beaupuy was awarded the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur medal at the Quai d'Orsay on Thursday March 5, by the Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot.
In his introduction, the Minister reminded us that this ceremony was taking place in the Salon de l'horloge, a place steeped in history, since it was here, some 75 years ago, that the European Union was born, thanks to Robert Schuman.
The Minister presented Jean-Marie Beaupuy as a discreet and demanding man, always faithful to his principles and to the maxim of Saint Francis of Assisi that "good things make no noise";

"You have embodied and disseminated essential values: humanism, listening, respect for vulnerability, values that our society could really do with.
Jean-Marie, you are the proof that political action, when driven by passion and rigor, can truly change things and move the lines.

An emotional moment for the man who was elected in Reims, the Marne department and Brussels.
For JM, this medal is the result of a commitment, being attached more to results than to a title or function.
In front of this varied audience, surrounded by his friends, he is convinced that in a world where individualism is developing far too much, we need to keep in touch with each other for everyone's equilibrium.
